In 2017, Esther Kazungu joined Imani Collective. Esther has the gifts of optimism, vision and diligence. Growing up, Esther wasn't able to attend school past the eighth grade. This increased her vulnerability to poverty and further alienated her from the realization of her dreams.
However, her resilience never wavered.
She later put herself through sewing college and acquired marketable skills. Since she was young, Esther has dreamt of opening up her own tailoring shop to make clothes and teach other women basic sewing skills. Her passion for creation and magic with detail is exemplary.
Since she has joined Imani Collective, she has begun to step towards her dreams. As lead seamstress at Imani, she trains and builds up emerging artisans in sewing skills. She currently has five understudies.
Esther has overcome the barriers, discouragement and impossibilities that were set before her. She has fought for the opportunities she desires for herself with poise and passion.
Esther believes in potential of the women around her, she presses into that and seeks to refine the beauty of their raw talents.
She is nurturing, she is a joy.
