MEET CHRISTINA

Tell us more about you!

I'm a Florida mama who loves her babies, baking, and all things vintage. Aside from being a mother, I am a wife to my wonderful husband of 3 1/2 years. I’ve always had a passion for photography and design, as well as baking and cake making— essentially, I am a hobby hoarder. I am the best at always having too many things going on at once! I have two children who are my sole passions in life, Wolf who is 2 years old, and little Aurora who is fresh and new at 8 weeks old. They are the greatest gifts life has given me.
.
.
What is something weird/quirky about you?
I always have to have my TV volume set at very specific numbers for the bedroom and living room. Bedroom is 14, living room is 11. Don’t ask me how I came up with that.
.
.
What is your favorite food?
Olive Garden salad. Extra black olives.
.
.
What is something you have overcome as a woman in this world?
I moved out when I was 16, started working, and became a manager at a local restaurant when I was 17. A lot of people doubted my ability to succeed, I think based on my age at the time, but I was able to prove them wrong by hard work and determination. Through that I was able to provide myself with a comfortable lifestyle at such a young age— even if it wasn’t the most conventional or easy thing.
.
.
What are you most proud of in the work that you do? How do you empower those around you?
The thing I’m most proud of is building a loving, safe, and nurturing foundation for my children. I try to uplift the people around me by reassuring them that they’re doing a great job in whatever they might be doing, and especially for moms that I know, that their children will always think they’re doing the greatest job and not to be too hard on themselves. I also like to highlight their successes and achievements, because I know something like that can always boost their self esteem.

What drew you to become a Brand Ambassador for Imani Collective?

The mission that Imani Collective hones in on is one that I respect greatly. To be able to represent a brand that encourages women empowerment and is also ethical and sustainable is an honor.

I hope people really take the time to understand the mission that Imani Collective stands behind, and I hope it’s able to serve as an inspiration for other small and larger scale shops. The world is so fast with fashion, food, home items, just business in general, so it’s nice to see a business focusing more on the good and leaving a positive imprint.
