F E A T U R E   F R I D A Y

Say hello to this incredible mama and our VP of Sales & Operations. In addition to the 60+ artisans in Mombasa, Kenya, we have our stateside crew and it would be a S H A ME if we didn't introduce them to you! So without further ado, here's Ashley!

What do you do in your position at Imani Collective?

A little bit of everything (minus design + marketing ... not my strong suit).  I get to work with our many wonderful Wholesale partners, take care of internal operations such as reporting, inventory management, accounting, and basically making sure we can run the business here in the states; and packing up orders + shipping them out with my 1 year old sidekick!

What drew you to work for this company?

Loved the mission.  I love being a working mom and so the fact that Imani empowers mothers to invest in their careers/skills and in their kiddos really drew me in.

What is something you have overcome/are overcoming as a woman in this world?

Anorexia. I fell into the self-image trap and have been set free by the grace of God. What I once was so desperate to control, I now cast my burdens on the one who overcomes the world.

What is something you’ve done/you’re doing that makes your proud?
Training for a half marathon, raising two sweet, fun, and rambunctious boys.
What is your favorite food?
Salads, Bruschetta, and Bread Pudding :)
Describe your ideal day:
Early morning, uninterrupted coffee + Jesus; long workout; brunch with friends, shopping (by myself), afternoon by a pool or beach, fun dinner out at a new restaurant with my Hubs.

One last thing to live by,

"If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you."
